For decades I had the honor and pleasure of getting to know the British Royal Family and Queen Elizabeth II.
All the superlatives that will be hurled at her in the coming days are true and accurate, but I want to shine a light on a lesser known side of her personality.
Few people know this, but her highness was also a very spiritual person, and on this background I had the privilege of meeting her many times.
She was interested in extraterrestrials.

The Queen and her husband, Prince Philip, owned one of the largest collections of books in the world in the field of parapsychology and evidence of extraterrestrial life in space.
Their interest in the fields of spirituality and aliens, which Prince Charles also shared, fascinated and impressed me greatly.
Philip's death was a terrible blow for the Queen - their relationship remained close and loving throughout the decades they spent together, and she felt that she had lost her support.
Elizabeth believed in life after death, and I believe that she wanted to be reunited with her beloved.

Another side of the Queen's personality that remained hidden from the general public was her sense of humor: Elizabeth was unusually entertaining and funny when she felt free in the company of the people close to her.
Beyond that, she was an uncommonly strong woman, with mental strength that allowed her to overcome the enormous challenges that life threw at her.
As a devoted mother like no other, she always devoted her enormous energies to healing the tensions and nursing the rifts that occasionally opened in the family, causing her great pain.
She will be greatly missed by her family, the British people, the world at large and me personally.
