In August there were several explosions on the Crimean peninsula.

Ukraine has only now commented on the rocket fire.

Munich/Saki - In the course of the Ukraine war, numerous attacks have shaken the Crimean Peninsula in recent weeks.

This was illegally annexed by the Russian Federation in 2014.

Ukrainian forces are said to have hit Russian ammunition depots in Dzhankoy in the north of the island.

The Saki Air Force Base was also hit in an explosion.

Meanwhile, Moscow spoke of an “act of sabotage”.

The Ukrainian side initially did not comment on the explosions.

A letter has now been published.

Ukraine admits to missile attacks on Crimea - Russia remains calm

According to the European and American secret services, elite Ukrainian units behind the lines were responsible for the explosions, as the

FAZ

reported.

There was no military response to the shelling in Crimea.

This may be because Russian President Vladimir Putin wants to stick to the term "special operation".

Russian President Vladimir Putin does not speak of a war of aggression.

The Russian population should be kept out of the war as far as possible, as the

FAZ

further reported.

However, many Russians are vacationing in Crimea and the image of the special operation could slowly crumble.

A few days ago, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi announced that he wanted to recapture Crimea.
