Although Donald Trump is no longer president, things are still not quiet around him.

In an interview, the 76-year-old hinted that he would run again.

Munich/Washington - does he do it?

Or does he not?

Many are wondering if former US President Donald Trump will run in the next US presidential election in 2024.

He himself makes a big secret out of it.

Again and again he presents himself on big stages and can be celebrated.

Nevertheless, investigations are ongoing against him because he took top secret documents to his estate in Florida after his presidency.

The storming of the Capitol continues to haunt him.

Donald Trump hints at re-running for US presidential election

Donald Trump has again indicated a candidacy for a second term.

“Everyone wants me to run.

I'm leading the polls," Trump said in excerpts from an interview with Indian television broadcaster NDTV released on Thursday.

He's leading both Republican and Democrat polls, the ex-president said, "and I suspect I'll be making a decision in the very near future."

And I think a lot of people will be very happy.” It is not yet known whether incumbent President Joe Biden will run in the 2024 election.

In the interview, the 76-year-old repeated his refuted claim that his victory was “stolen” in the 2020 election through massive voter fraud: “There is overwhelming evidence, there is overwhelming circumstantial evidence,” Trump claimed.

Donald Trump: FBI seizes top secret documents on his private estate

The ex-president is currently suspected of violating espionage laws by taking crates of classified documents to his private home, Mar-a-Lago, in Florida at the end of his term.

In a raid on Trump's luxury home in August, FBI officials seized dozens of documents classified as "top secret," "secret," and "confidential," according to the Justice Department.

Trump has denied any allegations related to the files and called the search "one of the most shocking abuses of power by a government in American history."

US Presidents are required to hand over all official documents to the National Archives upon leaving office.
