No problems: Achim Stauder, manager of the Monte Mare in the Vitalwelt Schliersee, expects the pool and saunas to be in regular operation - even with a gas stop in winter.

Oil-powered boilers should ensure the operation of the Monte Mare in the Vitalwelt Schliersee in an emergency.

The saunas and pools should also be heated in winter.

Schliersee

– Probably no other room is heated as much as a sauna.

While public buildings will have to be content with 19 degrees in the future, it will be up to 95 degrees in Monte Mare in the Schliersee vitality world.

This should remain the case, confirms plant manager Achim Stauder when asked by our newspaper.

The topic of saving energy is fundamentally discussed intensively in the group of companies based in Rengsdorf (Upper Palatinate).

A closure of the Monte Mare in the Vitalwelt Schliersee is not planned.

The pool temperature should also continue to be reduced "not at the expense of the guests" - although according to Stauder, an automated system already ensures the lowest possible energy consumption.

Monte Mare relies on two energy sources

The operations manager is therefore so sure that the Monte Mare does not have to be closed because the facility is running on two tracks when it comes to energy.

It is true that two combined heat and power plants with gas currently provide electricity and heat.

Oil-powered boilers were originally installed in the vital world (we reported).

The latter are ready for use at any time.

"We always use them when the combined heat and power plants are being serviced," explains Stauder.

Should there be a gas ban or rationing in winter, the Monte Mare can continue to offer relaxing sweating with oil.

"The output of the boiler is even greater than that of the combined heat and power plants," says Stauder.

The systems could be seamlessly switched between each other.

Stauder keeps a low profile on what operating with oil and the increase in gas costs mean for the admission prices.

Old contracts still secured the costs this year.

As for what comes next, "I don't want to jump to conclusions," says the operations manager.

Manager: Energy is already being saved

In any case, Stauder wants to keep the water temperatures as well as the saunas.

The pool in the Vitaltherme is currently 30 degrees warm, the saltwater pool is heated to 32 degrees.

"We have not yet considered heating less," says Stauder, also because the Monte Mare is a thermal bath.

However, the temperature also depends on what the Schliersee market wants.

As is well known, the Monte Mare operates the Vitalwelt Schliersee on behalf of the municipality.

"If the business partners express the desire to keep the tanks colder, things might look different," the manager speculates.

Until then, both he and the community would be “watching” what was happening.

In summer, the pool heating, supported by the sun, had little to do anyway.

In winter, the Monte Mare would "turn all the knobs" to save the energy needed to do so.

However, the focus is still on the well-being of the bathing and sauna guests.
