The adult education center in Geretsried starts the fall semester with 200 courses.

There are 80 events in the health sector alone.

Geretsried – In a few days the new semester will start at the adult education center (Vhs) Geretsried.

According to the announcement, there are 200 courses in the areas of general education, vocational training, creativity, sports, languages, health and nutrition.

Registrations are now possible.

"Our offer is diverse, educational, up-to-date, social and entertaining," praises Vhs director Beate Ruda of the new program.

"Young and old will find what they are looking for with us." From the Christmas hike in the footsteps of King Ludwig to a tasting with Germany's first beer sommelier to electromobility and ski gymnastics: interested parties can choose from a total of 200 events in the autumn semester.

"Folk college is so much more than an English or a cooking class," says Ruda.

Courses lasting several weeks, short courses and individual events

If you want to focus on physical training, inner balance or better nutritional awareness, you can choose between 80 events specifically in the area of ​​health.

Participants who do not have time for courses lasting several weeks can choose from 32 varied individual events or short courses in the general education and society or creative sections.

Ruda points out some highlights of the program in the new semester: On Thursday, September 15, an information evening about all German courses for beginners and advanced learners will take place in the city library from 7 p.m.

Refugees from Ukraine and other countries can also take part.

"All lecturers will be present that evening to answer questions and to find the most suitable course for the participants."

Monocle series starts again after a two-year break

The Monokel lecture series for the 60plus generation starts again on Saturday, September 17th, after a two-year break.

Ruda: "As before, we meet from 1.30 p.m. in the city library for coffee and cake, music, discussions and an exchange of experiences over the last few years."

On Wednesday, October 5th (from 7.30 p.m.) Prof. Dr.

Christiane Nüsslein-Volhard gave a lecture.

She is a Nobel Prize winner for medicine and will be speaking online this evening about “the limits of mankind”.

Participation is free of charge.
