Seven people were indicted in mid-August in the investigation into the murder of Lucas, 17, beaten to death in Fleury-Mérogis, said the prosecution of Évry-Courcouronnes this Friday, confirming information from AFP.
The defendants, aged 18 to 20, were indicted for "murder in an organized gang", then placed in pre-trial detention pending trial, adds the prosecution.
A judicial investigation had been opened for "intentional homicide in an organized gang" and "aggravated violence".
Fallen into an ambush
Lucas, who had no criminal record, fell into an ambush on the evening of July 26.
Around 8 p.m., a first brawl broke out between two groups: one from the Aunettes, in Fleury, and the other from the Pyramids, in Évry-Courcouronnes, against a background of conflict over a narcotics debt.
A young man from Évry was injured.
Around 10 p.m., it's the "return match".
In the empty streets, the band of Évry hunts down the least young of Fleury.
Lucas then goes "to a friend's", says his uncle.
To do this, he crosses the Place du 8-Mai-1945.
The young man was then surprised by about twenty attackers dressed in black and masked – some inhabitants speak of around forty – who beat him up with kicks, fists, iron bars and hammers.
According to those close to him, Lucas was "in the wrong place at the wrong time", and was only wrong to leave his house that evening.
A version confirmed by the mayor (PCF) Olivier Corzani, describing a “calm and gentle” teenager.
A white march organized with the municipality brought together nearly 200 people on August 6 to pay tribute to Lucas.
