An English couple from North Yorkshire decided to replace the kitchen floor as part of renovations in their house, but under the ledges they found a treasure they didn't expect - a clay cup the size of a Coke can, with coins worth a quarter of a million pounds inside.

According to the CNN report, the couple said that when the find was discovered, they first thought it was an electrical cable that was located about six centimeters underground.

However, after further inspection, they realized that it was a clay cup filled with almost 300 coins, which were probably used between the years 1610 and 1727.

"This is one of the largest finds found in archaeological searches in Britain," said expert Gregory Edmond, who traveled to the couple's home to witness the find and evaluate it.

They thought it was a power cable.

According to experts, this is a very long period of time in which the coins were buried - almost a whole century.

In fact, under the couple's house, which was built in the 18th century, coins from the reigns of James I, Charles I and George I were discovered.

Now, the couple who wanted to renovate their home is about to sell the coins estimated to be worth a quarter of a million pounds - about one million new shekels.
