A group of European analysts warned that the sanctions imposed against Russia appear to be suicidal for the European countries that imposed them and found themselves in a catastrophic situation as a result of them.
A report by Swedish TV Sweep stated that Russia suspended the work of the (North Stream 1) pipeline to pump gas to Europe for technical reasons, and as a result, gas prices increased by an additional 30 percent, which raised electricity prices and all basic industries in Europe were under threat.
The television quoted former Swedish Finance Minister Anders Borg as warning of a general industrial decline that would have dire consequences for the entire global economy. He said, "If the gas pipeline is suspended in the long term, Europe will find itself in a very difficult situation ... She is unable to solve her own problems.”
He added, "There is another danger looming on the horizon, which is Germany's suffering from a severe shortage of electricity, and this is evidenced by the announcement of the German Central Bank that perhaps 65-85 percent of energy-consuming companies will have to close during the winter, and this will lead to an industrial crisis of historic proportions." .
For her part, Annika Wenst, chief economist at Nordea Bank, said, "Germany is one of the countries that has advanced the most in the so-called green transition, so it has suffered the most from anti-Russian energy sanctions."
Soeb TV pointed out that “what is surprising is that the European Union is pouring oil into the fire of the Ukrainian conflict even after the soaring electricity prices in the EU countries. For example, German Foreign Minister Annalina Birbock recently confirmed that the Russian operation in Ukraine could last for years and that her country would provide financial support. and the military for Kiev as long as necessary.”
While experts are skeptical about many solutions being talked about in Europe, Sweep TV analyst Stig Berglund said, "Germany is in danger of facing the moment of truth... How do they intend to manage their industry and this nonsense about liquefied gas... They have no chance of obtaining it, as Germany and Europe in terms of The industry will never be winners.”
For his part, Lars Bern, an analyst in the same TV channel, believes that some Western countries sought to unleash the conflict in Ukraine for several goals, most notably sabotaging the successful energy trade between Germany and Russia and weakening Germany, and this is what happened.
He explained, "The United States, Britain and NATO worked frantically to ignite this conflict. They want to prevent the rapprochement between Germany and Russia at any cost, and they resented seeing this cooperation in full swing with Nord Stream 2, which the Americans have always been against."
He added that "Germany would have gained more from rapprochement with Russia than from total subjugation to the American will."
