Garbage fruit, as the people call it, has a taste between sweet and sour, and the color of its flowers is white, and its wood and fruits can be benefited from. It grows in red soil, areas with a moderate climate, and in mountainous slopes, according to a statement by the farmer Abu Duraid to SANA, indicating that it is one of the trees that are resistant to climatic factors and do not need much water for irrigation and care. agricultural.

A resident of the village of Batmazah, nicknamed Abu Basil, explained that the garage tree does not need the great care that other types of trees usually require. In the past, it was found in many wild areas where it grows alone on mountain ranges and rocks, while the people later began to plant it in farms and took care of it and worked to vaccinate it. Trees that are resistant to diseases and pests that affect fruit tree varieties such as ordinary pears, and this reduces the material costs of planting them because they only need to trim their branches.

And Abu Basil indicated that the fruits of the garage are usually very hard before maturity, and what distinguishes them from other summer fruits is that their fruits before the ripening period are green in color and turn yellow during maturity and their season is short, as it does not exceed about a month after the maturity of the fruit that is known in several villages of the region Names, including Alarab, Alarmout or wild pear.

For his part, agricultural expert Akram Afif said that the garage tree is a wild mountain tree that is grafted on to produce fruits with a distinctive taste and low prices in the markets, calling on the concerned agricultural authorities to work to support this cultivation and spread the culture of marketing and consuming this product and working to expand the cultivation of garage trees and increase its production.
