Police reveal the identity of two of the 4 victims of the Memphis shooting: a medical assistant and a young entrepreneur

The alleged perpetrator of the shooting that terrorized the city for several hours was arrested and identified as Ezekiel Kelly, a 19-year-old who has multiple criminal records, according to police.

A medical assistant and an aspiring businessman are among four people killed Wednesday in Memphis, Tennessee, in what the mayor called a "senseless killing."

Three other people were injured in the shooting, which spanned at least eight crime scenes.

Allison Parker, an assistant at the Family Practice Center, a medical center in West Memphis, Arkansas, across the state line, was one of the four people who died.

“Our office is mourning the loss of our Physician Assistant, Allison Parker.

She was a victim of yesterday's tragic violence in Memphis,” Dr. Trent Pierce wrote on Facebook.

"Please pray for his family and all of our office staff as we try to process this senseless loss," he added.

There was no answer on the office phone number.

A recorded message from Pierce said the center was closed Thursday because of Parker's death and would reopen Friday.

A verified online fundraiser describes Parker as a mother of three who lost their father two years ago.

One of her children was with her at the time of the shooting, according to the fundraiser.

A second victim, Dewayne Tunstall, was visiting a home east of downtown Memphis early Wednesday with friends when Tunstall was pulled away by the shooter, who was also there, police said in an affidavit filed Thursday in Shelby County Criminal Court.

Tunstall's best friend, Marcus Cash, told Memphis' WMC television that the group was at his house for a barbecue.

At one point, the shooter pulled out a handgun and fired multiple shots at Tunstall, fatally striking him, according to the affidavit.

“He ate his food.

It was unexpected," Cash said of the suspect.

Cash described Tunstall, 24, as a budding businessman and father of a girl with another child on the way, the station reported.

The couple planned to open a food truck together, Cash told the station.

Cash, who described the suspect as an acquaintance, said he was unaware of any problems between him and Tunstall, who also went by the name Amir.

The suspect is accused of shooting six other people, three of them fatally, over several hours beginning Wednesday afternoon, according to authorities.

Mayor Jim Strickland said in a statement late Wednesday that he was "angry" on behalf of the victims and their families.

"I am angry that our citizens had to shelter in their homes for their own safety until the suspect was captured," he lamented.

The 19-year-old suspect was taken into custody Wednesday night after authorities spotted a Dodge Challenger he allegedly stole on Interstate 55. He was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder and is being held without bond, records show. from jail.

It is unclear if he has an attorney to speak on his behalf.
