Fans of celestial events can also look forward to September: a full moon will make the sky shine.

But what is behind the autumn moon?

• Find a dark place where you can ideally have a clear view of the radiant (apparent origin).

  The darker the sky, the more shooting stars can be seen.

• Give your eyes enough time to get used to the darkness.

• Find out about the weather conditions in advance.

  When the sky is cloudy, it becomes difficult to spot shooting stars.

• Get comfortable with warm clothing and a warm drink - and be patient.
