Bad Tölz – BRK President Angelika Schorer recently visited the local district association.
In Bad Tölz she also stopped by the clothing store of the BRK and found out about the social offers and the work there.
However, Schorer did not come to the district town alone: the BRK President accompanied BRK State Manager Leonhard Stärk and Managing Director of the Upper Bavaria District Association Martin Rieger.
There she welcomed District Administrator Josef Niedermaier, District Manager Andreas Schäfer, Helmut Kulla (Head of Social Services) and District Emergency Officer Jörg Kastner.
Aim of the BRK "Clothes Markets" in the Tölzer Land: Help for low-income citizens
Inge Knobloch, head of the "Clothing Market", introduced the visitors to the concept of the shop and showed them around the rooms.
The aim of the BRK "Clothes Markets" in the district is to provide low-income citizens in particular with well-preserved, inexpensive second-hand clothing.
But every other citizen can also shop there.
The "clothing markets" in Geretsried and Bad Tölz have also taken on the task of making it easier for long-term unemployed women and men to re-enter the first job market as part of an employment and qualification project.
The proceeds from the clothing donations benefit the specialist office for caring relatives, general training or the BRK multi-generation house.
BRK President Angelika Schorer impressed by the voluntary commitment
The BRK President was also impressed by the commitment of the many volunteers.
"In the Bad Tölz clothing store I was able to meet highly motivated volunteers who make a daily contribution to more sustainability," emphasized Schorer.
After a walk along Marktstraße, the guests then reached the BRK multi-generation house (MGH) in the former Franciscan monastery.
There, MGH director Rita Knollmann explained the projects of the social citizens' meeting place for young and old to the visitors.
Tölzer BRK multi-generation house and family sponsors and learning aids
"The range is very large," reported Knollmann.
Whether it's about being together with children, accompanying families, helping out at lunchtime, giving time, "a specific concern is always the driving force".
If you like, you can also get further training in your field of activity, not only in first aid, but also in intercultural topics and communication.
