The Mönchengladbach soccer professional Florian Neuhaus probably injured his knee badly in the 0-0 draw against SC Freiburg on Sunday.
"It looks like a cruciate ligament injury," said Gladbach coach Daniel Farke on Sunday after the game to the internet broadcaster DAZN.
The 25-year-old national player collided with Freiburg's Daniel-Kofi Kyereh in the 30th minute.
Freiburg – While Kyereh was able to continue playing, Neuhaus had to leave the field injured.
Further investigations should now clarify the severity of the injury.
Freiburg coach Christian Streich was also shocked: "Hopefully not," said Streich when he heard about the suspicion of the cruciate ligament injury.
