Ingredients

    • ½ cup basmati rice

    • 4 tablespoons of olive oil

    • Cups of dark raisins

    • 2 carrots cut into thin strips 3 cm long

    • Teaspoon of salt

    • A pinch of ground black pepper

    • A teaspoon of cinnamon

    • cinnamon stick

    • 2 chopped garlic cloves

    • 3 cups of boiling water

Preparation

How do you make rice with almonds and raisins?

  • 1 In a wide pot, place olive oil, dry spices and the carrot.

  • 2 Mix for about 6 minutes and add rice and garlic.

  • 3 Mix again and add the raisins.

  • 4 Add the boiling water and lower the flame.

  • 5 Cook fully covered for about 20 minutes.

  • 6 Remove from the heat and leave the pot closed for another 10 minutes.

  • 7 Mix and place a cinnamon stick on top.

  • 8 Toast the blanched almonds on a pan and sprinkle on top.
