At 19 years old, Carlos Alcaraz is already a tennis great: he beat Casper Ruud in 4 mushrooms in the US Open final and climbed to the top of the ATP world ranking.
In a close match, the Spaniard triumphed 6-4, 2-6, 7-6 and 6-3 against the Norwegian, who was playing his second Grand Slam final but the title is still elusive.
The 19-year-old played three straight five-set matches en route to the final, including the second-longest match in US Open history, when he defeated Jannik Sinner at 2:50am in the quarterfinals. .

"It's a Grand Slam final, fighting for world No. 1, something I've dreamed of since I was a kid," Alcaraz told reporters after defeating Frances Tiafoe in the semifinals.
Alcaraz is now the youngest number 1 in the history of the ATP rankings, an award previously held by Lleyton Hewitt, who reached the top spot at age 20 in 2001.
