In a letter released this Saturday by the JDD, Elisabeth Borne testified to her support for Sanna Marin, a few weeks after the broadcast on social networks of a video showing the Finnish Prime Minister dancing at a party.

“The invasions of your privacy and the sterile debates they have generated over the past few days are unacceptable.

Finland: sulphurous evenings, controversy and screening test for Sanna Marin

The origin of the quack: a video showing Sanna Marin, 36, partying, singing, dancing and having fun, with other Finnish personalities.

In the short excerpt, we also heard the mention of “flour gang” on one of these videos, “flour” being in the middle of cocaine addicts.

A remark that must have pushed the leader to submit to a drug test which turned out to be negative.

"Misogynistic" and "reactionary" critics

Denouncing “the often misogynistic and always reactionary character of the malicious comments” having targeted the Finnish politician, Élisabeth Borne believes that there is still a “long road to travel towards equality between women and men”.

"This fight, like that of gender equality and tolerance, you have embodied it since your entry into politics, you embody it more than ever today," said the French Prime Minister.

Elisabeth Borne also wishes to salute the career of Sanna Marin, assuring that "History will keep from the new feminized guard" her political record: "social reforms, the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, support for Ukraine and resistance to Russian aggression, the historic decision to join NATO to name a few”.

The French Prime Minister is not the only political figure to have shown her support for Sanna Marin this summer.

Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton tweeted a video of herself dancing, encouraging Sanna Marin to do the same.

On social networks, many anonymous people had also filmed themselves dancing, defending the right of women to have fun freely, far from criticism.
