However, the ceremonial coronation that finally sealed Charles's assumption of office in front of the eyes of the world public could be a long time coming.
The palace has not yet announced the exact date, a months-long planning phase that will last into next year is not excluded.
There was a full 16 months between the accession to the throne (February 6, 1952) and the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II (June 2, 1953).

Charles will probably not take any example from his mother's magnificent ceremony in Westminster Abbey, which lasted three hours and, according to "TimeOut", cost a whopping 1.8 million euros (equivalent to around 55 million euros today).
According to palace sources, the 73-year-old would like a smaller and cheaper service.

The more intimate coronation ceremony is intended to reflect Charles' desire for a slimmer monarchy.
According to media reports, Queen Elizabeth II's successor wants to establish a "slim" royal family that focuses on the king, his wife Camilla, Crown Prince William (40) and Kate Middleton (40).
As a result, Harry (37) and Meghan's (41) children may have to part with their recently won titles "Prince" and "Princess".
