His loss was marked by "deep sadness", according to the monarch.
A look behind the scenes shows how upset the 73-year-old actually is.
London – The death of Queen Elizabeth II († 96, 2022) hits the heart of the British royal family, especially her son and heir to the throne, King Charles III.
(73) is currently experiencing days marked by grief.
As the new head of the Royals, the 73-year-old addressed the people for the first time in his new function on Friday (September 9), but while the television speech already gave an idea of what was going on in the monarch, off-camera pictures show how deep the pain really sits.

He felt "deep sadness," revealed King Charles III.
in his speech to the nation delivered by the monarch at Buckingham Palace on Friday in light of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
"And like the Queen herself, with such unwavering devotion, I now commit myself to the constitutional ones for the rest of the time God grants me upholding principles at the heart of our nation.”

The television pictures, which have now gone around the world, showed the heir to the throne in an unusually emotional way.
Next to him was a photo of the late Queen, to whom her firstborn son also sent sentimental farewells: "Thank you for your love and devotion to our family and to all the nations you have served so diligently over the years."
