A spokesman for United Christian Hospital said that at about 6:30 p.m. yesterday (September 11), a 38-year-old male patient left the medical ward without notifying the ward staff.
The patient was admitted to the hospital on September 4 due to pain in the left upper quadrant. On the same day, he was diagnosed with COVID-19 and received isolation treatment at the hospital.
Until the day before yesterday (September 10) and yesterday, that is, on the 6th and 7th days after the positive test, the rapid antigen test was negative for two consecutive days, and he was transferred back to the general ward for continued treatment.
After the United Hospital discovered that the patient had left the hospital without authorization, it immediately dispatched security guards to search the entire hospital and nearby areas and asked for police assistance, but no trace of the patient has been found so far.
The hospital attaches great importance to the incident and will fully cooperate with the police search operation.
The hospital pointed out that the patient was about 1.9 meters tall, with a thin build and a beard.
CCTV footage showed the patient leaving the hospital wearing goggles, an orange coat, black trousers and blue shoes.
The hospital appeals to the public to immediately notify the police or call the hospital hotline at 3949-4002 if they find the patient.
