The Russian Black Sea Fleet announced today the receipt of a new marine tug.
According to a statement issued by the fleet’s press service, carried by the Russian (RT) channel, “the forces of the Russian Black Sea Fleet were supported by a new marine tugboat and the navy flag was raised on it in a celebration that took place in the city of Sevastopol in the Russian Crimea,” noting that this tug is the third locomotive. Navy out of five tugs being developed within the framework of a state project of the Ministry of Defense at the yards of the Yaroslavl Shipbuilding Plant.
The statement added, "The length of this locomotive is 69.7 meters, its width is 15 meters, and its displacement of water is 3200 tons. It can move at a speed of 14 knots and travel 3000 nautical miles on each mission and work for 30 days on each mission without the need to refuel and supplies."
Russia started manufacturing this locomotive in November 2016, and lowered it to the water for the first time on November 28, 2019, and in July 2021 sent it to Sevastopol, where it was equipped with the required equipment, and its sea tests began last February.
