The Ukrainian army “liberated” the city of Izium

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Sunday evening that his army had recaptured the strategic town of Izium in eastern Ukraine from Russian forces, where kyiv is waging a counter-offensive that has broken through Russian lines.

kyiv accuses Moscow of retaliation on the power grid

Ukrainian local authorities reported Russian strikes on their electricity infrastructure on Sunday evening, but power was quickly restored to part of the affected areas.

According to Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleg Nikolenko, the attacks are "an act of desperation after Russia's immense losses and its retreat into eastern Ukraine".
