A 53-year-old from Munich died in an accident on Saturday afternoon.
His small plane crashed in Middle Franconia.
The man was apparently with the police.

He started in Upper Bavaria with his small plane and crashed in Thalmässing (Roth district).
Where exactly the pilot wanted to go is still unclear.
The 53-year-old from Munich did not survive the crash.

As reported by the police in Central Franconia, an emergency call was received at the operations center around 12.30 p.m.
A plane crashed.
The alarmed rescue workers found the crashed small plane on a field between the Waizenhofen airfield and Reichersdorf.
The Munich pilot was alone on the plane and died at the scene of the accident.
The crash site was cordoned off over a large area.
The Schwabach criminal police have started the investigation on site, the exact cause of the accident has not yet been clarified.
At the scene of the accident, numerous emergency services from the surrounding fire brigades, the rescue service, the technical relief organization and a police helicopter were deployed.

The Munich police headquarters mourn the loss of their valued colleagues.
The CSU working group "Police and Internal Security" of the Munich district association also shared its condolences.
“We mourn the loss of our colleague and friend who lost his life in a tragic accident yesterday.
Our thoughts are with his relatives," it said in a Facebook post
