An informed source in the field of Russian military industries announced that experts in the country are working on a project to develop new ships for naval research.
The source told TASS that "Russian experts are currently working on plans to develop the second pair of new naval research vessels for the Russian army," noting that work on the manufacture of these two ships may begin within three months.
The source indicated that the Russian Defense Ministry signed contracts to acquire the first two ships during the activities of the Army Forum 2021, which was held last year, and the process of manufacturing these two ships began this year.
The new ships mentioned are considered modified versions of the ships developed by the Zelenodolsk Office of Complex Oceanographic Design and Research. Each of these ships is supposed to be about 100 meters long and have a water displacement of about 4,000 tons. Its main crew consists of 24 people. Russian Navy.
