The conversion of the Indersdorfer Gabel is imminent: The accident-prone intersection will be equipped with a traffic light.

But it still takes time.

– It has been clear since the beginning of the year that the Indersdorfer Gabel will be equipped with a traffic light.

The expansion is urgently needed, as the crossing has been one of the most accident-prone junctions in the district for many years.

Traffic light has prevailed over the roundabout

For a long time the question was: traffic light or roundabout - until the result of a report by the Freising State Building Authority was available: The best way to reduce the risk of accidents at the Indersdorfer Gabel as quickly as possible and at the same time ensure the efficiency of the intersection is a traffic light.

According to a spokeswoman for the authority, the building authority wants to "implement the traffic light system before the end of this year".

The plan was to start on Monday, September 19, the construction site board had already been set up.

However, there were problems with the award of the contract.

"We were only able to award the contract with a delay and still have no reliable information from the construction company." Next Wednesday there will be a discussion about the start of construction.

The building authority considers it unlikely "that construction can begin as early as September 19".

The building authority will provide further information on how the construction phases are carried out, whether a diversion is necessary and what the schedule looks like on Thursday.

However, the building authority assured that "it is important to us that we build the traffic light this year".
