The Palestinian Prisoners Club revealed that 4,682 prisoners are being held in Israeli occupation prisons and are subjected to the worst forms of psychological and physical torture, foremost of which is deliberate medical negligence, in flagrant and continuous violation of international laws and covenants.

Ma'an News Agency quoted the Palestinian Prisoner's Club as saying in a statement today that 4,650 prisoners are languishing in 23 detainees, and 32 women detainees are languishing in Damoon Detention Center, in addition to 180 children in Ofer, Megiddo and Damon detention camps.

The statement added that the number of sick prisoners reached 600, suffering from diseases of various degrees and in need of follow-up and urgent health care, including 23 prisoners with cancer.

He pointed out that the number of the old prisoners has reached 25, the oldest of whom are Karim Younis and Maher Younis, who have been detained continuously since 1983.

The statement clarified that 231 prisoners were martyred in the occupation's prisons since 1967, in addition to hundreds who died after their liberation due to diseases they suffered during their detention, pointing out that the occupation is still holding the bodies of 9 martyrs prisoners.
