An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale hit the city of Ashgabat, eastern Iran, without information about any damage or injuries.
IRNA quoted the Seismological Center of the Geophysical Institution of Tehran University as saying that an earthquake occurred this morning in the city of Ashgabat in South Khorasan Province, and its epicenter was 26 km from Ashgabat, 70 km from the city of Tabas and 74 km from the city of Bashroueh.
Three successive earthquakes, with a magnitude of 3.2, 3.8 and 3.3 on the
Richter scale, hit the Ahvas province in southern Iran yesterday.
