Today, firefighters in Lattakia put out a fire that broke out in an agricultural land in the village of Bani Issa in the countryside of Qardaha, which covered an area of about 20 dunums of olive and orange trees.
The commander of the fire brigade in Lattakia, Lt. Col. Muhannad Jaafar, told SANA reporter that the fire was extinguished in the village of Bani Issa, which the winds contributed to spreading, by two firefighting mechanisms from the Qardaha Fire Station, in addition to mechanisms from the Forestry Department in the Directorate of Agriculture.
Jaafar added that another fire was put out in a house in the Al-Fateh area in the Jableh countryside, and another fire destroyed a number of orange and pomegranate trees and an area of herbs north of Lattakia, in addition to several fires in herbs, reeds and garbage in Lattakia and Jableh.
