That's the way: Signposts to the Wiesn.

The Oktoberfest now also casts its shadow on the sidewalks between the main train station and Theresienwiese.
They now look as if someone organized a kind of scavenger hunt to the fairgrounds.
But the reason for this is obvious.
If you don't know your way around Munich, you'll probably prefer to take the subway between the main train station and Theresienwiese.
In itself, that's not a problem, even if the Theresienwiese is only one underground station away from the main train station.
During Oktoberfest, however, it's not a good idea to take the already crowded U4 or U5 subway line for this short distance to Oktoberfest.
Oktoberfest: Better to walk from the main train station to the Wiesn than to take the subway
The MVG is therefore appealing to all visitors to the world's largest folk festival this year to walk the last few meters to the festival.
In order for guests from outside to find their way, the Munich Transport Company (MVG), in consultation with the city administration, has now pasted over 100 signposts on the pavement.
With their help, the route via Bayerstraße and Hermann-Lingg-Straße can now be found without Google Maps or local knowledge.
New Oktoberfest logo to be seen on the signposts
An interesting aspect: the new Wiesn logo can also be found on the signposts - which is probably still unfamiliar to many Munich residents.
In this way they also discover something new, even if they already know the way to the Theresienwiese.
Foreigners have to find their own way back to the main train station
Incidentally, there are no signposts back to the main train station on the sidewalk.
That would probably also be confusing for those arriving.
On the other hand: Anyone who has walked the streets between Theresienwiese and the main train station after the bar has closed knows that such a signpost back to the main train station would certainly also be of great help to many visitors to the Oktoberfest from outside.
