After about 40 hearings, Roman Zadorov's retrial is coming to an end:
this week the 41st hearing will take place, which will mark the end of the final phase of the trial, the summary phase.
In the last two months, the prosecution and the defense presented their summaries in the Zadorov case, with each of them presenting the main evidence for his conviction or acquittal.

Zadorov's retrial began on October 12, 2021 and caused a public uproar.
After 15 years behind bars, Zadorov was put under house arrest under restrictive conditions.
In the amended indictment, Zadorov is accused of murder under aggravated circumstances and obstruction of justice, and 13 new prosecution witnesses joined, including Ola Kravchenko.
This week there will be a hearing where the judges will hear the parties and they will be given the opportunity to ask questions and make it difficult for them.
After the hearing, the judges will turn to writing the verdict, which is expected to last until after the holidays.

Zadorov's retrial opened in September 2021 and is expected to end with a verdict that will be published in the coming months in the second half of 2022.
To acquit or convict requires a majority of the judges.
The head of the panel, Judge Asher Kola, has already shown signs that may indicate that he intends to acquit Zadorov, but he did not express this explicitly.
The positions of the other two judges on the panel, Dani Zarfati and Tamar Nissim-Shei, are questionable as to Zadorov's acquittal.
