This is not the case for many in these weeks, because: The Oktoberfest is imminent.

On Saturday, September 17th, the most famous folk festival in the world will open.

At the Munich Oktoberfest, experts expect the incidence of corona to increase.

But the Wiesn could also be a new source of infection for another virus.

Until October 3rd, visitors from all over the world will be swaying and partying again in Munich.

Folk festival fans from the rest of Bavaria also make a pilgrimage to the state capital.

Especially from Nuremberg there are many ways to get there.

Oktoberfest in Munich: How to get to the Oktoberfest from Nuremberg by train

The earliest train on the cut-off day starts at 4.35 a.m.

At 7:11 a.m. you would be at Munich Central Station.

Trains run every hour from 6 a.m., and the ICE takes you to the state capital in just over an hour.

The last regional train on Saturday goes back to Franconia at 10.50 p.m., an ICE at 11 p.m.

At 1:58 a.m. there is the next opportunity to return to Nuremberg, but then with a change

During the week, the first train leaves at 4:52 a.m.

With the ICE you are already in Munich at 6.04 a.m., with the regional train (start: 5.08 a.m.) you are on the road in 1 hour and 38 minutes.

Depending on the offer, a trip costs between 17.90 euros and 40 euros.

The last regional train back to Nuremberg leaves at 10.50 p.m. (duration: around 2 hours), at 11 p.m. there is another ICE, the next train does not leave again until the middle of the night, namely at 3.21 a.m.

Oktoberfest arrival by train - Bayern ticket can be worthwhile

The Bayern-Ticket can be worthwhile for traveling by train.

It costs 26 euros plus 8 euros per passenger.

That makes 11.60 euros for five people.

It applies to all local trains, transport associations and almost all regular buses in Bavaria for any number of journeys in one day.

Another way to get here is by bus.

Flixbus offers numerous connections between Nuremberg and Munich.

Oktoberfest: How to get to the Wiesn with the Flixbus - these options are available

Return journeys are possible with Flixbus until 11.45 p.m., at 2 a.m. there is the next possibility to travel home.

You can also travel from Nuremberg to the Oktoberfest in Munich from 4.20 a.m. on Mondays.

The last trip back is at 11:45 p.m. from Munich-Fröttmaning, and then again at 2 a.m.

If you arrive at the ZOB in Munich with the Flixbus, you can reach the Theresienwiese on foot.

The journey to the Oktoberfest takes around 20 minutes.

Oktoberfest in Munich: You can park here if you arrive by car

It is also possible to arrive by car.

Parking spaces around the festival site will be rare, but drivers can park in the numerous park and ride facilities and then switch to public transport.

Possibilities would be, for example, the car parks Fröttmaning or Kieferngarten.

From Fröttmaning it only takes 23 minutes by subway to Theresienwiese, a change is necessary.
