The path was bumpy, so those responsible don't talk around it.

But now the open-space photovoltaic system on the A 96 near Geisenbrunn is connected to the grid.

The official opening took place yesterday.

Geisenbrunn

– The rain had stopped and the mild September sun made the approximately 36,000 solar modules along the A 96 near Geisenbrunn shine.

These now produce around 17.8 million kilowatt hours per year there, which corresponds to the annual consumption of around 4,450 households.

Because the huge open-space photovoltaic system is finally up and running, the faces of Mayor Manfred Walter, Robert Sing and Thomas Tronsberg from Sonnenenergie Gilching GmbH, District Administrator Stefan Frey, the landowners involved and guests from politics at the opening ceremony were relaxed.

There was champagne and appetizers between the modules.

But also speeches and urgent appeals.

The chronology reads calmly.

On December 6, 2021, the municipal council approved the development plan for the open-space photovoltaic system "south of the BAB 96", as it is officially called.

After the holidays, specialists began piling work for the module tables.

The weather cooperated so that the EEG commissioning date of May 31, 2022 could take place.

Compliance with the deadline guarantees the operator the minimum remuneration of 5.18 cents per kilowatt hour over 20 years.

But then it crunched.

Due to bureaucratic hurdles, a few weeks passed before commissioning and thus connection and feeding into the public grid, and the system only went online on July 29 (we reported).

Sing spoke of a wild time.

"We sweated a lot," he said.

Twice there was a total stop, "then we thought, let's leave it now".

He thanked everyone involved, the administration, explicitly Knut Schwarzkopf from the building authority.

"When people are enthusiastic, something goes further, something is fun." Actually, the system should be called the Schwarzkopf system.

Thanks also went to project manager Bernhard Kirchhofer, who arranged everything on site - and to the property owners who had trusted him, above all Johannes and Elisabeth Weber and the Painhofer family.

District builder Dr.

Christian Kühnel from the district office made the project virtually possible “with two crates of beer”.

Because the documents for the land use plan were received on Friday, "and the approval was there on Monday".

But there were also serious tones.

France in particular is responsible for the high electricity prices.

"Everyone who has not done their homework and has not relied on renewable energies is now using the excess electricity in Germany and is ensuring high demand and corresponding prices," explained Sing. Mayor Walter had previously urgently contacted his political colleagues District Administrator Frey and the CSU member of the Bundestag Michael Kießling appealed for the bureaucratic obstacles to be removed, also with regard to the community's next project, geothermal energy.

"The approval times are far too long." It is very important to have renewable energy on site.

“We have to be more effective there.” In the case of geothermal energy, those involved were in the middle of the process.

"We invest millions in a network

But the first numbers are already forgiving.

In August alone, the system produced at least 2.1 million kilowatt hours - that's enough electricity for around 500 households.

However, it is still in trial operation.

The operators are aiming for uninterrupted regular operation from mid-September.

The general planner of the open-space photovoltaic system near Geisenbrunn was S&T Bürgerenergie Planungs-GmbH, and the planning office Sing from Landsberg took care of the planning.

The owners of the plant are the municipal utility Gilching KU, ten local property owners as well as Thomas Tronsberg and Robert Sing, the managing directors of Sonnenenergie Gilching GmbH & Co. KG.

The system size is 14 hectares, of which seven hectares are module areas and around seven hectares are green areas.

The installed module output is 16,220 kWp (kilowatt peak).

A total of around 36,000 modules were installed.

There are also around 76 inverters and six transformer stations.

The grid is fed in by Bayernwerk Netz GmbH.

Around 1.5 hectares of compensation areas were designated for the solar system in the scope of the system.

The arable land is transformed into meager meadows using autochthonous seeds.

The operators put the annual yield at around 17.8 million kilowatt hours - this corresponds to the annual consumption of around 4450 households.

Construction began on January 17, 2022, EEG commissioning on May 31 and grid commissioning on July 29.

The construction costs are eleven million euros.

The yield for the month of August amounts to 2.1 million kilowatt hours.
