Czech researchers from the Research Institute of Geodesy, Terrain and Mapping have devised a new way to be able to find out the whereabouts of groundwater through a device without having to dig or make any change in the surface of the earth.
The director of the institute, Yerji Drozda, said in a statement: “The method in which the institute began working uses a device that is able to check the presence of groundwater within only a few hours,” noting that this device is used to determine the gravity of the earth, which also changes slightly according to the amount of water. located underground.
He explained that this method can be offered by the institute to anyone who needs to follow up on the status of groundwater in archaeological and historical sites, natural reserves, or any other place where excavations are difficult.
Drozda pointed out that the need is now increasing in the world for this matter with the expansion of drought areas to know how and where the groundwater level is declining, pointing out that the method that was adopted until now lies in conducting a drilling or drilling process, which cannot be done everywhere.
