One hasn't been built yet, so the planning application for the next follows: The community of Zolling is building a second dirt park - this time in a district of the community.

Zolling

- The municipality of Zolling has just submitted the planning application for a pump track and dirt park next to the Anglberger Weiher (we reported).

And soon the next building application of this kind will follow: On Tuesday, the municipal council unanimously decided to spend 16,000 euros for another dirt park.

It is to be built on the eastern part of the soccer field in Oberappersdorf.

In July, the municipal council was informed in a closed session about the idea of building a dirt park on this area.

The project, reported Mayor Helmut Priller, met with approval, and the municipal council had promised the sum of 16,000 euros required for this.

So now the public consultation on the project for which Simon Moratz is in charge.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

The man, who has made a name for himself as a BMX rider throughout Germany, wants to build a dirt park together with the young people and parents on the approximately 3000 square meter area, which consists of various elements: jumps, waves, curves - all on different routes with different levels of difficulty that allow its use by both beginners and advanced users.

The pump track will be 274 meters long.

This requires earthworks, whereby the waves and curves formed from the earth are covered with a layer of sand and crushed limestone sand.

As a result, the facility requires less maintenance and can also be used in wet weather - for children and balance bikes, for BMX riders, mountain bikers and also for road cyclists.

However, the dirt park is not suitable for skateboards, scooters and inline skates.

Users should have a say

Important: Parents and young people should be involved in the construction phase, the dirt park in Oberappersdorf should be a community project.

And that's why the costs for the system are manageable: According to Simon Moratz's offer, gross costs of 17,700 euros are assumed, and the municipal council decided in a public meeting to make 16,000 euros available for it.

The municipality bears maintenance costs

In addition, the municipality has undertaken to assume the ongoing costs for maintenance, monitoring and repairs: 1,600 euros per year should be due for this.

Priller spoke of a "very committed team" who wanted to implement the project.

There were no requests to speak from the municipal council – and no dissenting votes either.
