The rapper was fatally shot while eating with his girlfriend at Roscoe's House of Chicken 'N Waffles in what appears to be a robbery, according to Los Angeles Police Department Chief Michel Moore.

His tweets and organic conversations between other artists and fans on social media speak to common themes in hip-hop: masculinity, safety, and managing fame.

"The amount of unreported robbery attempts affecting rappers is ridiculous... rappers don't even talk about it because some think it's embarrassing to admit or talk about it. Rappers are literally the targets of robbery attempts. broad daylight," podcast host and entertainer DJ Akademiks tweeted Monday.

PnB Rock had already spoken to DJ Akademiks about an attempted robbery when he was with his girlfriend and her daughter.

It appears that the rapper, originally from Philadelphia, had no security when he was at Roscoe's on Monday.

Now he joins the list of rappers who were victims of gun violence.

2018: XXXTentacion
