Palestinian sources to "Israel Hayom": "First signs of Mary in the security mechanisms" | Israel today

Security personnel during the day, terrorists at night • Palestinian officials warn that: "There is a rebellion by individuals within the mechanisms that may develop into a wider phenomenon" • Abu Mazen does not restrain his people • His opponents at Petah are taking advantage of the loosening of the security mechanisms to weaken

The increase in the number of Palestinian security personnel involved in attacks against Israel indicates that Abu Mazen and his men are beginning to lose control of their security mechanisms - this is what Palestinian sources said today (Wednesday) after it became known that Ahmed Abed, one of the terrorists who carried out the attack near the Jalma crossing, was a military intelligence officer. One of the PA's security arms.

Abed is not the first "disobedient".

Since the beginning of Operation Breakwater, there have been several attacks in which Palestinian uniform wearers took part.

One of them is Mahmoud Hajir, 23 years old from the refugee camp in Lata, a Palestinian policeman who shot at soldiers from a vehicle in the Hawara area about a month and a half ago.

In other cases, the terrorists were the sons of senior officers in the Palestinian security mechanisms, bodies that are in charge of security coordination with Israel and are supposed to work to preserve it.

The father of Raed Hazem, who carried out the attack in Dizengoff, served as a senior officer in the Palestinian National Security, and so did the father of Ibrahim Nabulsi, the terrorist who was killed in the Kasbah of Nablus, was a senior officer in the security of the foil.

The two officers came out openly and expressed support for their sons' actions, without having the authority to call them to order.

Not only was the authority ignored, Fatah officials called to comfort the fathers and made mourning visits.

"We are not terrorists, we are protecting our land."

Palestinian officials say that even within the security mechanisms there is dissatisfaction with Abu Mazen, and warn that "these are the first signs of rebellion by individuals from within the mechanisms that may develop into a wider phenomenon", similar to what happened at the beginning of the second intifada, when activists from the Palestinian security bodies joined the fighting against IDF forces "To.

"There are Palestinian officers who turn a blind eye and do not make a hundred percent effort to prevent actions against Israel, and Abu Mazen does not take a position. He does not want to confront them. The security coordination exists, but if the escalation worsens, there could be some withdrawal," a source told Israel Hayom Formerly in the Palestinian security mechanisms.

On the one hand, Abu Mazen and the PA leadership do not sever security coordination with Israel, and continue to tell their Israeli counterparts that they are not interested in escalation, but on the other hand, they do not lift a finger to ensure that the next threats do not come from within the mechanisms themselves or from within the ranks of Fatah, the movement headed by Chairman the authority.

The people of the mechanisms are not cut off from the street.

Those of them whose relatives have been arrested or killed by the IDF feel that they cannot sit still. They throw off the yoke and rebel in uniform while receiving encouragement and support from Fatah officials. In the first response of Fatah Secretary General in Jenin, Ata Abu Ramila, to the attack near J Why, he declared "Palestine is an open battlefield for confrontation with the occupation. We all walk the way of the martyrs and we fear no one but Allah."

These militant statements are heard from field personnel and senior officials in Petah who encourage violence against Israel without the PA leadership working to restrain them.

Sources say that "Abu Mazen is finding it difficult to control not only the mechanisms, but also the Fatah militants of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades", who yesterday adopted the two terrorists Ahmed and Abd Rahman Abed, while spreading calls to continue the jihad against Israel.

"Even within the mechanisms there is backup for the street militants of Fatah who have become a private army that the authority can activate whenever it wants"

There is no decision by Abu Mazen to enter into a conflict with Israel, but on the other hand, the leadership of the PA does not come out strongly against the involvement of the members of the mechanisms in the attacks, in what is interpreted as providing legitimacy, and sends a message to some of the officers "that a great disaster will not happen if one of them takes a rifle and decides to strike."

Moreover, some of Abu Mazen's political opponents in Fatah have influence over the Palestinian security mechanisms, so they are taking advantage of the loosening within the mechanisms to encourage Mary against the PA chairman, as part of the succession battles.
