During a motorcycle inspection lasting several days, the police in Holzkirchen pulled 189 machines out of circulation.
Most came from the European Bike Week in Faak am See.
Holzkirchen
– The police recently used the traditional European Bike Week in Faak am See, Austria, as an opportunity for a six-day control campaign led by the motorcycle control group of the police headquarters in Upper Bavaria South.
The unit, stationed at the Holzkirchen Autobahn Police, was supported by other praesidia and their groups.
"Control density and expertise were able to meet the expected rush," says a press release.
Around 70,000 to 80,000 motorcycles from all over Europe are in Faak.
"Not everything that can be spiced up is permissible"
"In order to stand out from the crowd, the motorcycle is individualized," writes the police.
But not everything that can be spiced up is permissible.
Of the 360 motorcycles checked, 57 percent received complaints because they were not designed in accordance with the law.
Be it because vehicle parts were not tested and approved or exhaust systems were manipulated.
Finnish family has brass knuckles with them
For the 189 motorcyclists who complained, the journey ended provisionally in Holzkirchen.
Anyone who was unable to have a safety-related defect rectified on site or other serious defects remedied in a nearby workshop had to have the vehicle picked up with a trailer.
The family excursion of a Finnish family turned out to be curious.
Brass knuckles were found in the parents' luggage, ready to be accessed.
The son (22) could only come up with a moped driver's license after his driver's license had already been withdrawn in his home country due to his character being unsuitable.
