Su Huawei, a 40-year-old former Hong Kong Paralympic track and field representative, was awarded an honorary academician by the Education University of Hong Kong. Since 1996, Su Huawei has represented Hong Kong in the Paralympic Games five times, winning a total of 6 golds, 3 silvers and 3 bronzes. He is known as the "Wonder Boy".

Since 1996, Su Huawei has represented Hong Kong in the Paralympic Games five times, winning a total of 6 golds, 3 silvers and 3 bronzes. He is known as the "Wonder Boy".

He retired in early 2016, ending a 20-year career as an athlete.

His life has been put on the big screen and made into the movie "Mama's Wonder Boy".

EdUHK praised Su Huawei for his unyielding fighting spirit on the track in a press release, which brought him many honors and awards, including the Hong Kong Outstanding Athlete Award 8 times.

In 2005, he was selected as one of the top ten outstanding young people in Hong Kong, and was awarded the Medal of Honor by the Hong Kong SAR Government in the same year.

In 2008, he was awarded the "Star of the Stars" in the Hong Kong Outstanding Athlete Election.

After Su Huawei retired, he joined the Hong Kong Disabled Sports Association and the Hong Kong Paralympic Committee to help other disabled athletes develop their talents.

The Education University of Hong Kong announced today that it has awarded honorary fellows to five individuals in recognition of their achievements and contributions to the University, the education sector and society.

In addition to Su Huawei, the other four are Taoist Li Yaohui (Yijue), Dr. Ma Jieqin, Ms. Bao Wu Aicen and Dr. Shi Lide.
