The fugitive was found on the ground, in a state of shock, with a severed leg at the height of the ankle.
His foot lay a few meters further on the quays in Ivry-sur-Seine (Val-de-Marne).
Such is the tragic conclusion of a banal refusal to comply that began a few minutes earlier in Alfortville, during the night of Tuesday to Wednesday September 14.
After the intervention of the emergency services and the fitting of a tourniquet, the victim was evacuated in a state of vital emergency to the Kremlin-Bicêtre hospital.
The case started a few minutes earlier, around 3:40 a.m., when a patrol from the anti-crime brigade (BAC) crossed a car driving with all lights off in the town of Alfortville.
In an unmarked car, the officials start following her and see her running through a first red light.
The small city car stops at the next traffic light and the police come up to it, asking the driver to step aside to carry out an identity check.

The driver, with a passenger at his side, speeds off and flees despite the sound and light warning devices on the police vehicle.
The fugitive takes a bridge, crosses the Seine and accelerates in the streets of Ivry-sur-Seine, grilling new red lights.
The police lose sight of him before finally coming across the wrecked car in the middle of the road.
"The car tore up several metal barriers before ending its course in the middle of the road, along a bus lane", describes a person close to the investigation.
The passenger gets out of the car and immediately runs away.
The police then discovered the driver a few meters behind the car.
“He should not have a belt and was ejected”, specifies the same source.
The victim is lying on the roadway while his foot is a few meters away on the sidewalk.
Officials immediately call for help and one of them applies a tourniquet.

The other two resume the chase but this time on foot, in the alleys of the district.
Eventually, after another patrol arrived, the exhausted fugitive finally surrendered.
Arrested, the young man, possibly an unaccompanied minor of foreign origin, was placed in police custody.
As for the driver, evacuated in absolute urgency, he was operated on and was in the recovery room on Wednesday at the end of the day.
His days would no longer be in danger.
He could not be heard by the investigators of the Alfortville police station, in charge of the file.
The car could well have been stolen the same night, a few hours earlier in another department of Île-de-France.
