The experience of the Palestinian writer and novelist Hassan Hamid in a meeting with the Writers Union in Sweida

The rich creative experience of the Palestinian writer and novelist, Dr. Hassan Hamid, formed the focus of a literary meeting organized by the branch of the Arab Writers Union in Sweida at its headquarters today, in the presence of a crowd of writers, writers and those interested in cultural affairs in the governorate.

Dr. Hamid, who expressed his happiness to be among the producers of culture in As-Suwayda from different generations, talked about his biography and the references that his books, incidents and news formed as a past and history that he relied on for writing while addressing his life and upbringing in one of the villages of the occupied Syrian Golan with its charming nature with all its vocabulary and components that were Inspires him to develop his childhood towards his dear country, Palestine, from which they immigrated to the Golan, due to the similarity of their nature, in addition to the difficulties, suffering and obstacles of life later in the refugee camp after 1967, and the role of his school, his friends, and those who are credited with the beginnings of his writing.

Hamid referred to what he was writing initially in poetry, in addition to his early writings in narration, story, and Syrian newspapers and magazines, which contributed to sponsoring his texts and then writing the novel and critical literary studies.

In his writings, he often talked about Palestinian issues, the suffering of the Palestinian people, and fear for the place that is exposed to the campaigns of Judaization under the Zionist occupation, as well as his writings about Damascus, in which he lived and owes it, addressing its history, the social life of its people, their customs and rituals, and how this big capital will be and its importance, especially from a political point of view between countries. He considered that if he had not been on this Syrian land, he would not have been able to write these writings that talk about the resistance, the martyrs, the reality of the camps and others.

The interventions of a number of writers and writers pointed to the features of the novelist Hamid in terms of possessing writing tools ably and his intelligence in picking up topics and things and entering them and working on them as a surgeon to treat many issues from the inside and his uniqueness in a special style as well as his literary works that have achieved a presence on the Palestinian, Syrian and Arab arena and his success Important Arab literary awards received, many of them, for his creativity in them, his tireless work in the Syrian cultural issue, his contribution to the industry and promotion of culture, and his support for many talents he published for when he was editor-in-chief of the Literary Al-Mawqif and Literary Week newspapers.

The head of the branch of the Arab Writers Union in Sweida, writer Wejdan Abu Mahmoud, explained that Hamid represents a great name and icon in the world of narration, story and novel, and a mobile linguistic and cognitive lexicon.

The novelist Hamid was born in the villages of Safad in 1955. He studied at the universities of Damascus and Lebanon. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Arts and Humanities, Department of Philosophy and Sociology, and a member of the Arab Writers Union. He was a member of its executive office and head of the Cultural Activity Bureau for many years, and editor-in-chief of the two newspapers Al-Osbo’ and Al-Mawqif, which issued it. He has more than Fifty authors in the story, the novel and literary criticism, and some of his stories and novels have been translated into a number of foreign languages, and many of them have won literary prizes.
