The Ukrainian presidency, through Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Kyrylo Tymoshenko, said on Wednesday evening that the city of Kryvyi Rih, in the center of the country, was threatened with flooding after a Russian strike damaged hydraulic infrastructure and caused a river to flood.
“At the point of impact, we observe a flow of water of 100 m3 per second, which represents a large volume.
The water level of the Ingoulets (the river) changes every hour,” he said.
“We are clearly aware of the magnitude of the tasks ahead of us to limit the consequences of missile strikes.
The water level in the streets of the city is constantly monitored by special posts.
They also monitor the private sector, whose houses are located in the Ingoulets district and the city center pose a risk of flooding,” adds the deputy head of the presidential administration.

“It's a challenge for all of us, but the situation is under control.
All services are involved to eliminate the threat as quickly as possible,” he added on Telegram.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, a native of Kryvyi Rih, a city of 600,000 inhabitants, had previously announced a Russian strike that targeted “hydraulic infrastructure” there, without causing any casualties.

For his part, the governor of the region, Valentin Reznitchenko, mentioned seven Russian Kh-22 missiles fired from a plane, which "seriously damaged" this infrastructure.
