According to Singapore's "Lianhe Zaobao", a Kremlin official revealed at a briefing on Tuesday (September 13) that Putin will discuss Ukraine and Taiwan in his meeting with Xi Jinping on Thursday (15th), saying that the meeting "Special significance" in the current geopolitical situation.
Kremlin aide Ushakov said the two leaders would discuss bilateral agendas and major regional and international issues.
"Naturally, they will rate positively the unprecedented high level of trust in the bilateral strategic partnership," he added.
Ushakov said Moscow attached importance to China's stance on the "Ukrainian crisis", saying Beijing had adopted a "balanced approach" to the conflict.
He said China "clearly understands the reasons for forcing Russia to launch a special military operation. Of course, this issue will be thoroughly discussed at the upcoming meeting."
Although China has not confirmed that Xi Jinping and Putin will meet, let alone that Xi Jinping and Putin will discuss the Taiwan issue, Ushakov's remarks are meaningful.
