India's President Draupadi Murmo renewed her country's stand by the Syrian people, expressing her best wishes for Syria's recovery from the crisis and for its people continued progress and prosperity.

During her acceptance in an official ceremony that took place today at the Presidential Palace in New Delhi, the credentials of Dr. Bassam Al-Khatib, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Syria to India, Murmo indicated that her country has always stood by the Syrian people before and during the crisis, as well as during the “Covid 19” epidemic, in addition to providing possible aid. Through the various programs for capacity building and development, including the creation of the Syrian-Indian Center of Excellence for Information Technology in Damascus, expressing her thanks to Syria for its support to India in the United Nations and international organizations and forums.

In turn, Ambassador Al-Khatib conveyed the greetings of President Bashar al-Assad to President Mormo, stressing the depth of the historical and cultural relations that unite the two friendly countries, and the president's keenness to strengthen these relations and move them forward in a way that lives up to the aspirations of the two friendly peoples and countries.

For her part, President Mormo asked Ambassador Al-Khatib to convey her greetings to President Bashar Al-Assad and her wishes to the Syrian people for continued progress and prosperity.
