A dictator chopping wood.
The Belarusian ruler Alexander Lukashenko seems to want to help Europe in the energy crisis.
Alexander Lukashenko, leader of Belarus
»We will not let Europe freeze to death.
We will help our brothers.
Maybe one day they'll help us, too."
In a video published on Wednesday, the Belarusian dictator can be seen together with Deputy Sports Minister Sergei Teterin.
They sarcastically gossip about the gas shortage in Europe – and above all don't spare the Polish government.
Sergei Teterin, Deputy Minister of Sports
»This fir is difficult to chop.«
Alexander Lukashenko, leader of Belarus
»That's right.
But listen, Europe can't choose between fir or birch.
The most important thing is to stay warm.”
Sergei Teterin, Deputy Minister of Sport
"It will warm you up."
Alexander Lukashenko, leader of Belarus
»We have to work to ensure that the people from the countryside and workers get the wood, not the rich people.
The most important thing is that [Polish President Andrzej] Duda and [Polish Prime Minister Mateusz] Morawiecki do not freeze to death in Poland.”
Sergei Teterin, Deputy Minister of Sport
"They shouldn't freeze to death?"
Alexander Lukashenko, leader of Belarus
»Yes.«
Sergei Teterin, Deputy Minister of Sports
"They are our neighbors."
Alexander Lukashenko, leader of Belarus
"Yes, and maybe they'll reconsider their opinion."
Alexander Lukashenko has ruled Belarus with an iron fist since 1994.
Opposition members are arrested, the media are censored.
In Putin's war of aggression, he sided with the Kremlin ruler.
And he should have once again ingratiated himself with his wood chopping video with full physical effort.
