Another man in Berlin has been insulted and attacked in an anti-Semitic manner.
According to his own statements, the 33-year-old was driving the S-Bahn through Charlottenburg on Tuesday afternoon when he was “anti-Jewishly insulted” by a passenger, the police said on Thursday.
When he refused to do this, the other man grabbed his arm, according to the information.
Berlin/Potsdam – The 33-year-old pushed him away, whereupon a second man intervened.
Both men hit the head and upper body of the 33-year-old with their fists.
When another passenger intervened, the 33-year-old got off at Wedding S-Bahn station, and the attackers continued.
The 33-year-old was slightly injured.
The criminal police are investigating dangerous bodily harm, insult and incitement to hatred.
It was not initially known why the attackers classified the man as a Jew.
Only on Tuesday was a Potsdam rabbi in Berlin-Mariendorf aggressively anti-Semitic insults and jostled when he was on the phone in Hebrew.
According to his statement, his clothing also showed that he was a Jew.
He told the "Bild" newspaper: "So I was clearly recognizable as a Jew when suddenly an Arab-looking man insulted and attacked me.
He yelled "Jew," raised his hands, grabbed me." He said he's now considering stopping speaking Hebrew on the street and stopping showing specific parts of his clothing.
He was attacked three years ago.
The police wanted to evaluate video recordings from a nearby subway station and are looking for the perpetrator, but there were no new clues on Thursday.
