In order to enjoy a drink on any occasion, here are some tips for opening a bottle without a corkscrew.

How do you get a cork out of a bottle?

Open a bottle without a corkscrew, we have all (or almost) experienced this situation.

Moreover, we are not obliged to remove the cork to have access to the wine.

From the moment it is corked, you can free the neck by dropping the cork inside the bottle.

To do this, just press with a long, strong object with a diameter smaller than the neck.

A ballpoint pen can do the trick, but may break.

We prefer the handle of a wooden spoon or the closed blades of a pair of scissors.

Extra tip: operate over a sink, as falling off will cause the stopper to splash.

Open a bottle without a corkscrew: the trick of the screw

It's not because we don't have a corkscrew that we are necessarily badly equipped.

Enjoying a good wine is possible with the help of a screw, pliers and a screwdriver.

Basically, it involves using the screw as a corkscrew, i.e. screwing it into the cork and then gently removing it using pliers.

This method also works with a nail and pliers, but you have to be careful not to push the nail too far or you risk crumbling the cork in the wine.

How to open a bottle with a knife?

Another widely used technique is that of the knife.

When you really don't have kitchen utensils, you can use a key.

In both cases, it involves sliding the tip of the object into the cork, creating a small angle with respect to the neck (about 45°).

After having firmly inserted the point, it is enough to turn gently and pull little by little to dislodge the cork.

A variant of this technique is that of the fork.

Do not tilt the tip of the cutlery, but prick it directly.

The rest of the operation remains the same: just turn the fork to move the cork and gently remove it.

The risk of the maneuver is to break the cork.

To prevent this from happening, you have to make small movements from left to right.

How to open a bottle without a corkscrew with a lighter?

This last technique should be performed with caution.

Using a lighter or a blowtorch, you will have to heat the neck just under the cork and slowly turn the bottle for 2 minutes so that the heat diffuses and expands the cork.

The pressure effect caused by the heat will push it out of the bottle.

It will then suffice to remove it by hand or to let it eject.

However, it is important to be careful if you choose this method.

Indeed, it is possible that the glass, too heated, explodes or breaks.

It is also not recommended to practice on a cold bottle, but temperate.

Moreover, the wine does not appreciate being warmed.

Finally, even if the whole operation goes well, it is possible to burn yourself with the heated glass afterwards.

So be careful!
