This is a video that has been shared thousands of times on social media.
Black T-shirt, beige combat pants, short beard, we see a young man staring at the camera with a resolute air.
He is unarmed.
He recites a
misbaha
, the Muslim rosary, and wears around his neck, hung on a black cord, a medallion: the photo of a young
"martyr"
fallen under Israeli bullets.
Around him, very young men, more or less masked, brandish M-16 rifles.
Some fire short bursts skyward.
The man with the rosary calls himself “Ibrahim al-Nabulsi”: Ibrahim of Nablus.
The video, which lasts less than a minute, was filmed in this city located about 100 kilometers north of Jerusalem.
Behind him, we can make out the silhouette of the Clock Tower, a graceful monument inherited from the Ottoman era, which still strikes the hours above the pointed roofs and the covered streets of the old quarter.
