In March, Gertraud Gruber, founder of the beauty farm, entrepreneur and honorary citizen of Rottach-Egern, passed away at an advanced age.

The rooms and buildings of her beauty farm, which she opened in 1955, are also getting on in years, although they are also very well maintained.

In order to remain competitive in the future and to carry the legacy of the pioneer into the next generations, the farm is to be renovated.

As the beauty farm Gertraud Gruber GmbH informed the municipality of Rottach-Egern, a new beauty center with a medical department is to be built at the previous location.

One imagines two main buildings with a connecting building in the middle in the shape of a dumbbell along the Berta Morena path.

The plans are still at an early stage.

However, the company plans to implement it in two construction phases so that continued operation is possible in the existing building.

First of all, the renewal in Berta-Morena-Weg 3 should be tackled, where Gertraud Gruber himself last lived.

Then the area that today includes the main building at Ulrich-Stöckl-Weg 18 and Berta-Morena-Weg 1.

"The renewal of the beauty farm will not come tomorrow," Mayor Christian Köck (CSU) added to the statements made by Tanja Butz, head of the building department, at the municipal council meeting on Tuesday evening (September 13).

But he not only showed understanding for the plans, he appreciated them.

New Plans for Beauty Farm: Land use plan will be changed for it

The beauty farm has always been a showcase for the community.

However, the land use plan in the area in which the beauty farm had grown continuously over the decades through real estate acquisitions stood in the way of its structural renewal.

It was designated as a "purely residential area".

A new construction of the beauty farm, especially in the announced width, would not be permitted.

Therefore, the municipal council unanimously decided to change the land use plan in the area "Berta-Morena-Weg, Ulrich-Stöckl-Straße and Steiler Straße" to "Special use beauty farm, tourist use".

In the same step, the committee spoke out in favor of drawing up a project-related development plan.

Vice Mayor Josef Lang (CSU) had requested this.

Such a building would bring the advantage of planning security for the building applicant, as well as the advantage for the community that the use is fixed.

The deputy mayor said appreciatively: "It is good that they are modernizing the tourist business and not converting it into condominiums."
