New electric: Polestar is coming to Israel

2022-09-15T04:21:15.256Z

A new electric brand is starting its local way. From NIS 255,000

The Polestar name should be familiar to car enthusiasts, as it was used by Volvo's performance division until recently.

In accordance with the new world order and the changing requirements, the brand spread its wings and became independent (owned by Volvo and owned by Geely) and electric.

The offer is currently based on one model - Polestar 2 - which landed in Israel a few days ago.

The dimensions of the 2 are similar to a recent family car, with the platform coming from Volvo's well-known XC40.

There are light crossover fragrances here with significant height, but not too much.

At Polestar they want to emphasize the dynamic side and note for example the excellent weight distribution.

In Israel, there are actually four versions of the model, all of them, as mentioned, completely electric.

The entry version offers a single engine producing 231 hp driving the front wheels (7.4 seconds, 160 km/h) with a declared driving range of 471 km.

The second version is actually the same version with a larger battery (78 kWh compared to 69 kWh) and an extended range of 540 km.

Above them you can find the double versions with electric motors and drive.

One produces 408 hp (4.7 s, 205 km/h) and offers a range of 480 hp.

The second is the performance which adds more to these.

The Performance, the top of the range, produces an electric power of 476 hp, which is enough to accelerate it to 100 km/h from a standstill in 4.4 seconds on the way to a maximum 220 km/h.

The official range here is 462 hp, but that's not all.

The Performance also gets a different finish for certain details such as adjustable Ohlins suspension (with 22 spring load choices), different rims, a gold finish for the Brembo brakes and more.

When it comes to accessories Polestar offers all comfort accessories in all versions.

Also in regards to advanced safety accessories, there is a complete and identical list here between all engine versions.

Prices start at 255,000 shekels for the entry version, 275,000 shekels for the version with the extended range, the version with two engines with 408 hp is priced here at 295,000 shekels, while the Performance is sold here for 335,000 shekels.

As part of the local launch, we had the opportunity to get a brief and limited impression of the performance version on Israeli roads and the initial impression is definitely positive.

The Polestar managed to take the platform of the XC40 and give it a different, pleasant and high-quality fragrance.

The performance of this version will satisfy anyone as the Ohlins suspension made a huge impression on the local asphalt.

Full test - soon.
