District - Sustainable, flexible and free of charge: On September 22nd, the district of Starnberg allows all citizens to use the 9 regional bus lines and the MVG bicycles at the Gauting and Gilching stations free of charge.

This is intended to advertise public transport as part of the European Mobility Week.

District Administrator Stefan Frey will be represented with an information stand at the train station in Gilching together with the Starnberg District Office's mobility projects team and, together with the Gilching municipality, will give public transport travelers a little refreshment on their way.

Citizens can get to know existing offers during the campaign

The use of public transport is still one of the most important aspects in the course of the mobility transition.

It is all the more important to inform the citizens about the existing offer and - if they are not yet used - to let them get a taste of it.

This is exactly what motivates the Public Transport Trial Day: to use the 9-seater regional bus lines for routes that are already familiar, as well as new routes and destinations, and to discover the diversity and flexibility of the public transport network.

In addition, at the MVG bike stations in Gauting and Gilching, you can test the rental bikes for half an hour free of charge.

You only need to register with the app (www.mvg.de/rad) and then you can start cycling straight away.

There is also a commuter snack for public transport users

Commuters who travel by public transport or by bike will also receive a commuter snack at Gilching-Argelsried station on September 22nd.

District Administrator Stefan Frey will be handed out the small refreshment together with Gilching's Mayor Manfred Walter, Christine Hammel (Municipality of Gilching) as well as Isabella Weber and Marie Makowka from the Mobility Projects Department of the District Office from 2.30 p.m. to 5 p.m. on site.

Isabella Weber, Head of Mobility Projects at the District Office, is pleased with the sustainable offer: "With the public transport taster day, we offer citizens a great opportunity to easily and conveniently test the well-networked and developed public transport connections in the Starnberg district free of charge or the to try out the good cycle path connections in the district.”
