Members of the royal family walked side by side to accompany Queen Elizabeth II on her way to Westminster Hall.

The procession wrapped all of London in mourning.

London – Queen Elizabeth II (96, † 2022) has left her longtime home, Buckingham Palace, behind forever.

The monarch's coffin was transferred to Westminster Hall, the seat of the British Parliament, in a funeral procession, accompanied by the British royal family, military, fanfares and applause from the waiting crowd.

With serious expressions of sadness, the Queen's four children, King Charles III.

The Duke of Sussex stepped down from royal duties in spring 2020, his uncle having had his titles and patronage revoked in the wake of the Jeffrey Epstein abuse scandal earlier this year.

Following the funeral procession, a service for the late regent was held at Westminster Hall, which Williams and Harry's wives Kate Middleton (40) and Meghan Markle (41) also attended.

To pay tribute to the 96-year-old, both women wore jewelery given to them as gifts by the Queen.

In the next few days, the British will be able to say goodbye to their longtime leader in Westminster Hall.

The official mourning period ends on September 19 when Queen Elizabeth's funeral is held at Westminster Abbey.

Millions of visitors are expected in the capital.
